“Go out in nature, sit under the tree, the buddha was enlightened by sitting under a tree. Computer is not our teacher, trees are your teachers, birds, rivers, mountains, humans are our teachers.”

6 week Nature Connection & Creativity Programme

at Stanmer Park Woodland

Creation Space invites you on a gentle exploration of the self and the more-than-human world. We are offering time and space to begin to return home to ourselves and to understand the reciprocal relationship we have with nature, in order to flow with life.

In each session we will focus our attention on an element related to our wellbeing, facilitated with a combination of individual adventures, creative and hands on activities, fire making, food sharing, storytelling, and much more. We will harness the power of nature by being outside, gathering in our own private woodland setting, in the heart of the ancient woodland at Stanmer Park, Brighton.

We have created this course with care, drawing on our own experiences, curiosities and deep love for nature. We aim to share what we can with you and also encourage group collaboration, idea sharing and self led work within sessions. We will be following the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, research from the University of Derby, providing evidence-based actions to help people deepen their relationships with nature interconnectedness, holistic health and wellbeing.

This is not group therapy - by signing up for our programme we are inviting you to step into the present moment with supportive facilitators, the wider group circle, and a mixture of individual and combined activities. We are coming together in good company, to enquire, to inspire and to begin to understand our potential. With time, we can all recognise we are not above or separate from nature.

One Day Workshops

Our stand alone One Day Workshops are an opportunity to stop and reconnect, over the course of a day. Together we will explore, create, make fire, eat together, and reconnect with ourselves and nature. Spark your creativity, spark some cotton wool - get the fire going, connect with inspiration.

Our One Day Workshops are normally held on weekends, to make them as accessible as possible.

Creation Space Is For You If:

You want to devote time to reconnecting with Yourself, reconnecting with Nature, and reconnecting with your Innate Creativity

You want a space to develop your ideas, get back to basics, and open to inspiration

You would value time to switch off your devices, switch on to creativity, alignment and joy

Practicalities

What to Bring

Please bring water, a packed lunch, and/or something to share with the group. We will have lunch around the fire most days. Please note- there is no drinking water onsite, so please bring what you need for the day. You may also want to bring a journal and pen, and any other creative ideas you might like to develop - if you would like. Or just bring yourself.

What to Wear

Please wear clothes that are suitable for an outdoor, woodland setting. We operate in and embrace all weathers so please dress appropriately! Layers are good. We will be sitting on logs/under trees/around the fire, so don’t wear your best clothes!

Timings

Mondays 12pm -4pm

We will have lunch together around 1.20/30pm, so please be ready for a slightly later lunch. Please aim to arrive on time. Due to other bookings, we cannot access the site until 12pm, but you’re welcome to use One Garden grounds and Cafe/Toilet, or spend time in the very beautiful main woodland beforehand/afterward. We will not be providing refreshments, so do bring what you need for our sessions. One Garden is about a 5 minute walk from our site.

Tech Free Zone

We encourage you to embrace the space, turn your phone off, and relax into the natural surroundings and activities offered. Emergency contact numbers will be available, and both facilitators will have their phones on and available for emergency calls only. If you do need you to check your phone, we ask that you do it in the break, and step outside the site, to preserve the integrity of the space.

Parking

Parking is available at the Patchway Car Park,  a short walk from our site. There is also a slightly cheaper car park at Church Car Park, a 5 minute walk from our site. Directions will be sent to you in your confirmation email when you book.
