WINTER HOLIDAY CLUBS

INDOORS/OUTDOORS

in LEWES!

Our Winter Clubs decamp to our beautiful venue in Central Lewes at Quaker Meeting House, also known as "Friends Meeting House", just in front of Lewes Library.

We are 3 mins from Waitrose, and 3 mins from Lewes station, if you exit at the main car park exit (lower level).

The main entrance is on the side of the building, accessible from Styles Field (the road up to the library).

We are the first room on the left as you enter the building, or just up the corridor on the left on some days.

We are 2 mins from the Friars Walk Car Park, and just a few minutes from Waitrose, which has free parking for 1.5 hours. Tesco is just a 15 min walk, and has free parking for 3 hours. There are a number of other car parks and on street metered parking in the area.

Arrival

We will meet at Lewes Quaker Meeting House.

Indoor clothing and warm snuggly socks/slippers are welcome for our indoor time. As our Playground Adventure Trips and Lewes Library Trips have proved so popular, we will again be spending half the day on adventures, whatever the weather!

Please ensure your child has appropriate warm clothing and rain gear and wellies/walking boots or similar.

Please Also Bring:

  • A change of clothing and spare carrier bag just in case.

  • Your child's Library card if they have one!

  • A container to take biscuits home! (Christmas and Feb Half Term only)

Please note - due to venue logistics, we will NOT be doing baking on 6th Nov INSET Day

TIMINGS

Our Holiday Clubs run from:

9.30am-3.30pm

We would be really grateful if you could collect your kids on time.

It’s a long day with our excited adventurers, and staff would like to get home on time.

Thankyou for your support on this.

Message for your child

Dear NatureKid(s),

Welcome!

We are excited to see you soon!

As you may know, NatureKids is all about you designing your own day.

Have a think about what you would like to do, and what you need to bring (if anything!).

Some Ideas About What to Bring

- Fun games to play - eg card games, board games etc.

- Snuggly blankets/cushions for snuggling up on and playing games on

- Creative things if there's something specific you want to make

- For Christmas/Feb Clubs: Special cutters for making biscuits (we have lots!) (Christmas and Feb Half Term only)

- Dressing up stuff

- Fairy lights to make the room festive

- Snuggly Socks/Slippers to keep your feet warm

If it doesn't beep or glow, bring it along!

(no electronics or weapons please- we are here to enjoy being together!) :)

Please name all your things so we can keep track of them and you can take them home when you leave.

A post-it note is good if you don't want to stick a permanent label on it.

We will have the Creativity Box with pens, glue, scissors, coloured paper etc for making things, and the Book Box to explore. If you just want to snuggle up in your blanket with friends and play card games/chat, you are very welcome!

Remember to pack your lunchbox, snacks and full water bottle.

Remember, no nuts!!

- just in case someone’s allergic.

Also at Christmas/Feb Half Term bring a container for your biscuits!!!! (Christmas and Feb Half Term only)

What We Will Do

We will meet together in the morning and say hello, talk about activities, safety and boundaries, then we will either go straight out on our Adventure Trip, or stay in for the morning, where you’re free to explore / play / create as you wish. Some of the activities to choose from are as follows:

- Christmas/Feb Half Term: Bake biscuits in our own little kitchen (Christmas and Feb Half Term only)

- Play your favourite board games/card games (we have lots!)

- Make Crafty things from the Creativity Box

- Do Facepainting!

- Explore the Book Box! (snuggle up and read in our cosy book corner)

- Sing, dance, have fun!

Have a think about what you would like to do and how you would like to spend your day.

We will take an Adventure Trip to Lewes Priory Playground, either in the morning or afternoon, to have some fun and run around! Make sure you wrap up warm, and bring waterproofs and wellies if it looks like rain!!

We will also go to Lewes Library to look at the books, so do bring your Library card if you have one!!!

We will all have lunch together, and then meet at the end of the day to share what we’ve done. We hope you will have fun!!

Please listen to our amazing staff- they are here to keep you safe (and play!).

If you have any questions, please contact us and we will get back to you.

We look forward to meeting you soon!

Best Wishes,

Zoe and The NatureKids Team :)
